Spring, wreath

On a Monday I can still remember the fun I had over the weekend, Wednesday is the middle of the work week, on Thursday I start getting hopeful and on a Friday I can taste the weekend. But what about a Tuesday? It’s so…. just there. Weekend memories are too far away and the upcoming weekend might as well be a year away.

What we need is a bit of colourful inspiration to get us going on a Tuesday, don’t you think? A pretty picture, beautiful scenery or colourful imagery. Yup, that’ll liven up Tuesdays and turn it into a terrific day!

From now on I will go through my photos and Pinterest likes every Tuesday and find us a pretty picture to add colour and joy to the day.

Here’s a photo of the Spring wreath I made over the weekend with only three ingredients from Hobbycraft: rattan wreath, green striped cross grain ribbon and wooden flowers. Special mention goes to Dulux for the Hawain Blue gloss paint on our front door.

Wishing you all a Terrific Tuesday!

Daffodils and granny squares

John and I spent the whole weekend outside. I picked these daffodils from our garden, John got out the patio furniture, I worked on granny squares for an afghan order (I got the order because of a photo I placed on Instagram!), and we had a BBQ with friends. All of this happened under a blue sky with the sun baking down on us. It was only about 15 degrees, but the sun was out and we cherished every moment.

Wishing you all a Terrific Tuesday.

When my sister in law and her children visited us in April, Cayla chose these pink and white snapdragons for our garden. They were very boring, plain green plants plugs when we saw them in the garden centre, but Cayla looked at the card that came with the tray of plants and chose them anyway. She had a vision of how it would look in our garden when they eventually would bloom. She could easily have chosen plants that were already flowering, but she chose these for us, despite the fact that they would only bloom once she was back in South Africa.

Cayla’s choice was excellent. I love these snapdragons! I’m sure they’re blooming even better because Cayla helped me plant them. All her childlike innocence and optimism went into the ground with the little plant plugs.

There’s a little to be learned from this 8 year old girl.

Cayla’s Snapdragon Philosophy Of Life:

  • be optimistic,
  • trust nature,
  • don’t always choose instant gratification, and
  • put the happiness of others above your own.

Wishing you all a Terrific Tuesday.

Here in London it’s another dreary, wet and grey day (isn’t it supposed to be Spring?!). On the up side, the rain has been good for the garden so I can pick flowers to brighten up the livingroom… and share with you.

Wishing you all a Terrific Tuesday!

These photos were taken on Sunday at our local garden centre. I jumped up and down when I saw all the lovely Spring bedding plants.  Really I did! Couldn’t stop smiling either. I was in my Happy Place, surrounded by beauty and lots of colour. Heaven! Hand on heart, I didn’t edit the photos with photo editing software. I loaded it straight from my iPhone – that’s how perfect mother nature is!

Wishing you all a Terrific Tuesday.
